The first step is to get your car up to “race ready” status. It has been our experience that although many cars are sold  “race ready”,  that is seldom the case.   Let’s face it,  racing is a
dangerous sport. Correct mechanical preparation can greatly reduce the chances of an accident, and make the car more pleasurable to drive. Whether it is done by us (preferred), or someone else who is qualified, this is essential. The criteria, in order of importance, are: SAFETY, RULES COMPLIANCE, and SPEED.

Unlike current racing, vintage rules specify that a car must be older than a certain date. The original manufacturers never intended   for   these    cars   to   still   be

competing. It takes an experienced eye to check for wear and flaws that appear with age. We have that experience, and our records reflect that. Repairing these cars before they fail is not only safer; it’s also a great deal less expensive!

Rules compliance is very simple. If you don’t comply, you don’t race. Period. The rules are designed to make the cars as safe and fair as possible, which we support. We are familiar with the rule books for each organization we run with.

Speed, of course, is also very important and the main reason most of us enjoy racing. Our customers have won many races in cars we prepared, including the Rolex Vintage Endurance Championship, as well as the Amoco Cup THREE YEARS IN A ROW!

Once your car is brought up to snuff, it will have to be serviced after each race. Each car has different maintenance requirements depending on how it’s driven and it’s complexity. We can access our records to give you a pretty good idea of what your car will require ahead of time.

Call or email us with questions or your race prep request, and we will respond quickly.
